Lyrics

I wanna live on a quiet street
walk on my front lawn with my bare feet
turn the volume down, don't need much sound
To make me smile

I want live where the cars go slow
takes half an hour just to drive down my road
takes me half a day, to drink my coffee
and read the news

(Chorus)
They say silence is golden
I bet I could find a lot of treasure on a silent boulevard
Now that I'm getting older,
the picture would be complete, if I was living on a quiet street

I want to live on a quiet street
park my convertible, sit in my back seat
Under a big blue sky, watch the folks walk by
and smile and wave

I want to be where the only sound
Is the evening breeze while the leaves fall down
Just another day, where I can hide away
And breathe

Some people love it when the decibels climb higher
All that noise is driving me insane.. I need a quiet lane

My wife likes to drink red wine, out on the patio in the summertime
It’s such a simple thing, she can’t hear the cell phone ring
When she closes her eyes.
