  1. Late Bloomer

From the recording The Color of Everything

Another autobiographical piece. Thanks to Goetz Bergmann who played a wonderful fiddle on this. Also Susanne Moewes and Loredda Jacque did a great job on the backing vocals.

Lyrics

I was born with a cold short span of attention
by the time I was seventeen I was fading fast
Keeping up has always been my intention
but when you take your time, you always fall behind

There are things I wish I would have known sooner
I'll be alright I've always been a late bloomer

Reaching out for the higher education
the world turns much to fast for me to navigate
hard to be the one with delayed revelation
skipping out of school, just a natural born fool

There are things I wish I would have known soonerI
I take the midnight train, I've always been a late bloomer

I feel right at home here in your rear view mirror
plenty of time for me to add to this narrative
Now maybe you might see the world just a little clearer
that's just your point of view, remember I'll come after you

There are things I wish I would have known sooner
I come from behind I've always been a late bloomer.
